DAY ONE
Afternoon: Arrive in Québec and check into your hotel.
Evening: Historical animation along cobble-stoned streets of the walled Upper Town, past the beautifully lit National Assembly, Dufferin Terrace, Château Frontenac, Aux Anciens Canadiens, Rue du Trésor (artist’s street) and the most photographed cannonball in Québec.
DAY TWO
Morning: Spirit of Lower Town including l’escalier Casse-cou (breakneck stairs), Place Royale, Notre-Dame-des-Victoires church and quartier du Petit Champlain.
Afterwards visit the Musée du Fort — a multi-media trip into Québec’s history.
Afternoon: Students participate in a Historical Facts Finding Rally followed by a visit to the Plains of Abraham for a battlefield workshop. Standing on Cap Diamant, as the Citadelle and the St. Lawrence River unfold below, your guide points out past and present landmarks. Students may spend time exploring Old Québec under the supervision of their teachers.
Evening: A one-hour “musical extravaganza” starring students, teachers and guides (May & June).
DAY THREE
Morning: Drive through the lovely countryside of Côte de Beaupré along Chemin Royale, Canada’s oldest road. Tour the Musée de l’Abeille–honey ecomuseum–and discover the fascinating life of the bee–or visit the Musée de Cuivre, which includes a workshop where students create their own copper artwork.
Afternoon: A traditional Québécois rural meal at an érablière (sugar shack) complete with music and entertainment (available with meal plan). Visit the beautiful Basilica of Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré and then make a stop at the spectacular Montmorency Falls.
Evening: Enjoy a dinner dance in a ballroom or a dance cruise on the St Lawrence River (extra). No charge for ballroom dance if booked before October 30.
DAY FOUR
Morning: After checking out of your hotel, there’s time to take some last-minute pictures before leaving for home.
